Jurgen Klopp: Casts beady eye at Wigan
Second-half goals from Danny Ings and youngster Ben Woodburn helped Liverpool record a 2-0 win in their pre-season friendly at Wigan Athletic.
The duo were amongst the eight players brought on at half-time by manager Jurgen Klopp as the Reds recorded their third straight win on their pre-season programme.
Philippe Coutinho caught the eye on his return, hitting the woodwork twice and creating a whole host of other chances.
It took until the 71st minute for Liverpool’s superiority to show, with Lazar Markovic’s excellent cross setting Ings up perfectly from close range, before a crisp finish from Woodburn wrapped up the win moments later.
