Liverpool dressing room blown away by Adrian after initial scepticism

Liverpool’s players have been raving over summer signing Adrian behind the scenes despite initial scepticism over his arrival, according to a report.

Adrian – who signed for Liverpool only a few days before the Reds’ opening Premier League game against Norwich following the departure of Simon Mignolet – was not expected to get a run of games with number one choice Alisson so dominant last term.

However, the Spaniard started his sixth full game between the sticks in the 2-0 defeat to Napoli on Tuesday night and according to Football Insider, the Liverpool dressing room was initially sceptical about his arrival but have grown to admire the 32-year-old.

The source says that Liverpool were at first worried about signing a free agent who had been in training in Spain, but the stopper has now won over his teammates following a string of good performances.

Despite Jurgen Klopp’s side losing 2-0 in Naples on Tuesday, Adrian prevented a worse defeat with a diving save to prevent Dries Mertens at the far post.
