Liverpool emerge as favourites to sign €40m-rated Brazil attacker

Liverpool are at the front of the queue to sign Anderson Talisca, according to reports in Portugal.

The attacking midfielder has not been signed by Besiktas after a two-year loan from Benfica, despite an option-to-buy clause in his contract.

Record claims that Liverpool are now the favourites to sign Talisca, who has scored 37 goals in the past two seasons. Benfica are unlikely to keep hold of him despite raising their asking price to €40million.

Talisca, 24, would add to Liverpool’s depth in attacking positions, and the player is thought to be keen on a move to the Premier League.

Newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers are also rumoured to be in the hunt for Talisca, as they look to make an impression in the top flight. Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo is aware of the player from his time in Portugal.

However, Liverpool look likely to beat them in the race to sign Talisca, who was the fifth-highest scorer in the 2017-18 Turkish Super Lig.

Klopp is thought to be running the rule over a number of potential summer recruits, with the likes of Ousmane Dembele and Nabil Fekir all under the microscope. A move for Lyon star Fekir, however, appeared to hit the buffers after these claims on Friday evening.

Thomas Lemar is another attacking option said to be interesting Klopp, though the £100million asking price on his head could deter the Reds boss from making a move.
