Liverpool facing battle with AC Milan to land £40m Brazil starlet

Lucas Paqueta TEAMtalk

Liverpool will reportedly have to fight off AC Milan if they are serious about signing Brazilian attacking midfielder Lucas Paqueta.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has already enjoyed a busy summer in the transfer market, bringing in Fabinho, Naby Keita, Xherdan Shaqiri and Alisson for a comprehensive outlay so far.

A move for Lyon star Nabil Fekir also fell through recently, leading to reports that Liverpool would look at other creative options – one of which is believed to be Paqueta.

The 20-year-old has shone at Flamengo since making his senior debut in 2016 and has also been watched by Chelsea and Manchester City.

However, the latest reports in Italy are claiming that Serie A giants Milan have also set their sights on the talented midfielder.

Lucas Paqueta TEAMtalk

Milan are under new ownership and are looking to make a splash in the transfer market as they look to halt Juventus’ hold on the number one spot in Italian football.

And Tutto Mercato Web claims that the San Siro side are looking to make a statement by landing Paqueta, who has a whopping £40million release clause.

City are also keen, however, and already have a strong Brazilian contingent in Gabriel Jesus, Fernandinho and Danilo, while Chelsea also have Samba stars Willian and David Luiz on their books.

But Milan has been home to some top Brazilian stars down the years and they are hoping to beat their rivals to one of the country’s top young talents.
