Liverpool facing transfer misery with Man Utd tipped to sabotage Klopp plans over dream signing

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp bumping fists with Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag

Manchester United are being urged to ruin Liverpool’s transfer plans by moving for one of their primary summer targets with the player branded ‘perfect’ for Erik ten Hag’s side.

Jurgen Klopp’s team have been usurped somewhat by the Red Devils this season with Ten Hag making an instant impact. Indeed, they are just one game away from ending their six-year trophy drought in the Carabao Cup final. And not only can they succeed Liverpool as League Cup winners, they’re also well placed to claim their Champions League place too.

As it stands, United are third in the Premier League, with Liverpool cut adrift somewhat in ninth. And while Liverpool know a win at Newcastle on Saturday can cut the lead on the top four to six points with a game in hand, the Reds still have it all to do.

Indeed, United currently hold a massive 14-point advantage over them – a staggering amount given performances over the last few seasons.

A major part of Liverpool’s issues this season have come around from having a struggling and ageing midfield. Indeed, big changes are predicted in the engine room this summer and Klopp looks to rebuild his side.

With Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain leaving as free agents, at least two new signings will hopefully be made. As such, Jude Bellingham has long been established as Liverpool’s top transfer target.

At 19 years of age, competition for Bellingham will be tough. And while he is expected to cost in excess of £100m, Liverpool seemingly lead the likes of Real Madrid and Manchester City for his signature.

To try and make that happen, Liverpool are reportedly even willing to offer his father, Mark, a top job at Anfield.

Jude Bellingham would be ‘perfect’ for Man Utd

Furthermore, a top Bundesliga presenter has also shared her information about why she thinks Bellingham is Anfield bound.

As such, it does appear likely that Bellingham is Liverpool’s signing to lose.

Despite this, there is a growing theory that Manchester United could yet look to gazump Liverpool to his signing.

And now former United keeper Peter Schmeichel has revealed why he thinks Bellingham would be ideal for the Red Devils.

Speaking to Goal, Schmeichel thinks the events of this season may have even tipped the scales in United’s favour.

“One of the things Jamie [Carragher] has said about Liverpool signing Jude Bellingham, he would be perfect for us, but we’re not attractive enough [right now] because we’re not in that position,” Schmeichel said.

“But you can imagine a situation where Liverpool aren’t in the Champions League and Manchester United are! Then all of a sudden, we might be more attractive.

“And of course with the situation of Man City as well, we might be that club! So it’s very important for us now to keep on track steadily.”

Man Utd have a chance to sign Bellingham

Manchester United can, absolutely, not be discounted from the race to sign Bellingham.

As it stands, the Red Devils look much better placed to offer Bellingham Champions League football next season. And while that is not the be-all and end-all, it suddenly puts them firmly in the frame.

United may also have the added windfall generated from a new takeover too. To that end, Qatari investors are ready to test the Glazers resolve to keep the club with a very firm proof of their intentions.

And amid reports that money will be no object for Ten Hag, they could become genuinely serious contenders to prise the player away from BVB this summer.

Of course United tried to sign the midfielder back in 2020 when leaving his hometown team, Birmingham City.

However, Ten Hag’s side may fancy their chances of landing him second time around this summer.

And his signing will undoubtedly take their midfield to the next level. Just imagine how good a central midfield axis of Bellingham and Casemiro would be together!

United face a critical run of games – starting with Barcelona in the Europa League – to see exactly how their season is to shape out.
