Liverpool have made an offer for Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen, according to a report in France.

Canal+ journalist Romain Collet-Gaudin has reported that Jurgen Klopp has made a bid for the Dutch international after being priced out of a move for Roma No. 1 Alisson.

It’s unclear what link the French reporter has with either Liverpool or Barcelona and there are no further details at this stage.

According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Cillessen was waiting to see what happens in the next few weeks with regards to a summer move away from the Camp Nou.

The Reds were linked with the former Ajax man, with Mundo Deportivo claiming previously that Liverpool had approached the LaLiga giants over the possibility of gaining his services.

Cillessen man has also been linked with Chelsea, and has a reported €60m release clause in his deal.

It was claimed last week that Cillessen has ‘received offers from two great European clubs’ – and believe Barca could be forced to part with him for just €30m.

The report from Mundo Deportivo however suggests that the 29-year-old, who is No.2  at Barca behind Marc-Andre ter Stegen, would prefer to stay at the Nou Camp.

However, he also has aspirations to become a starter at one of the top clubs in Europe, which means he could be tempted by a move to the Premier League, given that he would likely get a chance as either an upgrade on Loris Karius or a replacement for Thibaut Courtois.
