Liverpool launch €90m goalkeeper bid as Alisson makes choice

Liverpool have made a huge offer for Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak, according to reports.

The Reds are on the lookout for a new keeper after Loris Karius made two crucial errors in their 3-1 Champions League final loss to Real Madrid.

Karius rolled the ball out to Benzema for Real’s opening goal, before failing to keep out a long-range, speculative shot from Gareth Bale for the third.

Spanish outlet Don Balon claims that Liverpool have made a bid of €90million (£79million) to test the waters.

The report continues by saying that the Reds are confident that they will have an offer accepted in the coming weeks.

Oblak has established himself as one of the best keepers in La Liga having played for Atletico Madrid for a number of seasons.

The Slovenian kept more clean sheets than any other goalkeeper in La Liga last season with 22 in 37 matches with Barca’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen the closest with 19.

Arsenal have also been linked with the 25-year-old and Atletico are bracing themselves for a number of offers this summer.

Roma goalkeeper Alisson is also thought to feature on Jurgen Klopp’s list of possible replacements for Karius but Marca are reporting that he will now move to Real Madrid.

If Liverpool’s offer is accepted for Oblak it would make him the most expensive goalkeeper in history.
