Liverpool lay down the law over Coutinho as PSG show interest

Liverpool have reportedly told interested parties that playmaker Philippe Coutinho is not for sale at any price amid interest from PSG.

The Reds are determined to keep hold of their star man this summer, having already fended off interest from Barcelona, but now French giants PSG are said to be circling the player.

Coutinho is said to be PSG’s ‘Plan B’ if they fail to land Kylian Mbappe from Ligue 1 rivals Monaco but the Reds are unwilling to listen to any offers for their Brazil star, according to the report on This Is Anfield.

Goal’s Melissa Reddy claims that Liverpool have not had any enquiries from PSG at this stage and that “none would be welcomed nor entertained.”

Coutinho has got better and better since his £8.5million move from Inter Milan four years ago and excelled even further when pushed into a deeper midfield role towards the end of last season.

Indeed, the 25-year-old looks set to remain in that position ahead of the new campaign, especially now Mo Salah has been brought in to take his position on the left wing.

Coutinho only signed a new £150,000-a-week five-year contract with the Reds in January and if the club’s stance is anything to go by he looks likely to see out every minute of that deal.
