Fernando Llorente would be a good signing for Manchester United, claims ESPN pundit Steve Nicol.
We exclusively revealed that free agent Llorente is expecting an offer from Man Utd following his release from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
The experienced Spaniard’s agents have been in contact with United, with Llorente willing to wait for them to make an official offer before deciding on the other propositions he has received.
And Liverpool legend Nicol believes that Llorente would give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer another element to his attack.
“I think this would not be the worst idea for Man Utd,” Nicol told ESPN FC.
“Right now at centre-forward it’s a numbers game. They only have one and that’s Marcus Rashford.
“They don’t have another recognised centre-forward.
“Of course Llorente does give you another option.
“Man Utd under Solskjaer want to play attacking football, they want to keep it on the ground, they want to roll it around.
“But as I said, numbers-wise yes, and maybe even a change of direction now and again.
“I think this would be a good idea.”
