Liverpool linked with move for Brazilian left-back

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Roma defender Emerson Palmieri by the Italian media.

Jurgen Klopp still has a problem at left-back. Alberto Moreno is better than last season, but is not considered a long-term option. He signed Andrew Robertson, but clearly isn’t convinced, while James Milner is playing predominantly as a midfielder again.

So perhaps it’s no surprise that Liverpool are being linked with a move for yet another left-back in January. Italian media say that Roma’s Emerson Palmieri is one of their top targets.

The story comes from Gazzamercato, who claim that Klopp wanted to sign Palmieri in the summer, but he did his ACL in May which ruled him out for six months.

If Palmieri returns in November and proves his fitness, Klopp will return with a £22m bid in January. He joined Roma for less than £2m in 2015.
