Liverpool look set to miss out on Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger confirming the player will stay at the club.
Despite the Reds seemingly cooling their interest in the England midfielder, rumours remain that he is still on their radar if they are priced out of a move for top target Naby Keita.
However, speaking after Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Western Sydney Wanderers, as reported by the Metro, Wenger commented on Oxlade-Chamberlain’s future.
“Yes. 100%, I expect him to stay,” the Arsenal boss said. “No matter the speculation, he will stay.”
The 23-year-old, who has a year remaining on his Arsenal contract, was thought to be keen on a move to Anfield in the search for regular first-team football but that seems increasingly unlikely.
