Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic has revealed that he is open to a summer exit in order to achieve more regular game time.

Grujic was one of Jurgen Klopp’s first Liverpool signings when he arrived from Serbian champions Red Star Belgrade in January 2016.

The midfielder has struggled to break into the first team however, making just 14 appearances in two seasons at Anfield.

He spent part of last campaign on loan at Cardiff, assisting in their bid to earn promotion from the Championship.

He has been targeted by the Bluebirds again this summer, and Grujic has offered them hope in their pursuit.

There has also been reports of interest in Grujic from fellow Premier League new boys Fulham, while there is also interest from three Serie A sides in the shape of Atalanta, AC Milan and Lazio.

It’s claimed Liverpool will demand £10million for the midfielder, doubling their initial £5.1million investment when the player joined from Red Star.

“I will speak about my situation with the manager and Michael (Edwards) over the next few weeks,” Grujic told the Liverpool Echo.

“I am now a Liverpool player and I want to show the best of me to Jurgen.

“After this tour we have a training camp in France. I will try to show my best and then we will see what happens.

“Everyone knows we bought two new midfielders, two great players and great guys. There are a lot of players in my position so we will see what happens in the next few weeks.

“Of course I would rather go somewhere to play than just stay here and sit on the bench and only play for the under-23s.

“It’s the decision of the club and what they decide is best for me I’ll go along with.

“Training is good but for young players the most important thing is game time.

“I was very happy to play as much as I did for Cardiff. I felt really good. I played a lot of games and helped the team to win promotion.”
