Jurgen Klopp: Happy to make FA Cup progress

Liverpool’s owners have approached manager Jurgen Klopp about extending his contract, according to reports.

American owners Fenway Sports Group have been impressed with the German’s work during his first year in charge and are keen to reward his efforts, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Klopp still has two years left to run on his current deal but the club hope to offer him an extension.

The 49-year-old has listened to the club’s plans and talks are ongoing over a new deal.

FSG president Mike Gordon has instigated discussions with Klopp and his representatives and no issues are anticipated.

The German coach is relishing the job he took on last October and he’s expected to pen an extension over the coming weeks – which is expected to run until 2021.

Assistant coaches Zeljko Buvac and Peter Krawietz will also be rewarded with new deals.
