Young to get e 1-year extension? Dear God Almighty, this club is a joke.We should pay the the likes of fooking Young,Rojo,Mata,Matic,Sanchez,Jones,Bailly, to leave.

Just reading Chelsea have beat us to the Dembele signing and we have re-signed Young. Can honestly say I’m out of words. I can just hear all the clichéd bollix from Ole in his next press conference about good old ‘Ash’. If this is all true I’m on the verge of giving up on it all. Genuinely cannot be arsed giving a f*** about this total crock of s*** which is currently masquerading as Manchester Utd football club.

Sky’s reporting that Ashley Young has turned down United’s offer of a new contract. Ha ha, yet another kick in the teeth for this truly awful club. Good on yer Ash.

@n1xer – Don’t fret mate, we’ve just recalled Cameron Borthwick-Jackson from his loan spell at mighty Tranmere, so it’s not all bad news today after all!😳😳😳

How the f*** is he still even on the payroll at the club mate?, he’s not played a single minute of football for us since May 2016. Woodward strikes again!!

Markovic getting 75k/week is disgusting. Maybe this was where FSG learned their lessons though because we’ve been incredible in the market pretty much since then. I do think we should get longer out of Gomez in the first team before we go nuts on a high contract but himself and trent do deserve to get an increase very soon, trent especially, as he’s been playing to a very very high standard now for a long time. Himself and Robbo should be on above average pay for our squad surely?

I know the club have got to be careful but they also have to protect their assets. I don’t understand much about amortization but doesn’t giving them improved contracts, over as long a time as possible, actually increase the value of the club?

Songman, it is a competition. The lads have to push each-other to get into the starting line-up. So whoever starts, is actually benefiting from the other just being in the squad, ready to take his chance.

personally though, unless Gomez suffers and injury problem, or has some kind of fitness issue etc etc, I just can’t see anyone starting ahead of him. In my opinion, he’s been our best player over this past month or so. Maybe Klopp doesn’t agree but how many have we conceded since he’s been back partnering Van Dijk? I’m sure we did concede in this spell but I can’t remember any of them.

Anyway, regardless, having Matip back means that we aren’t threadbare back there anymore. Who knows, maybe we’ll see Gomez and Matip alongside eachother for a game here or there cause Van Dijk gets almost no rest (FA Cup aside).

Not everything has to be about face rubbing potential though. If Matip takes the CB place back without any fitness issues then he’ll be playing to a world class level. I say this cause Gomez is currently playing to this standard and we’re all better for it.

Mr Mak, competition breeds success and higher standards, and I personally do not care which defender plays as long as we keep winning.

My opinion still stands, that when both are fully fit, Matip is a better defender than Gomez, it’s just not an opinion though, nothing personal, as Gomez is clearly a top defender

It’s strBge songman. Opinions change all the time

Gomez was excellent then got injured and Matip who came in was brilliant.

Matip really stepped up last season and at the start of this one. Gomez looked all over the place when he first came back but now he is back to his best

Two excellent players but on form then I’d pick Gomez. He’s the best English defender around in my opinion when he is on form.

He really has been top class recently. His anticipation and recovery pace are exceptional.

We are lucky to have both of them and Lovren has done well this season also

Problem is Gomez, Matip and Lovren miss to many games

They’ll never have a better chance to beat us lol.

Maguire out for two months apparently.

Also Lingard is going to be dropped according to the papers.

Hopefully those that get a chance to show what they can do will take it. Would love to see Gomes get a chance at ten.

in the current cycle of play i think you are due a win but then with the injuries you have now in defence and who is likley to play i think Norwich could nick this….

will go 2-1 nowrich

We are not going to miss that £80m waste of space, going for a 2-1 win.

Norwich are a bit of a bogey team for us so I’m thinking it’ll be a draw, 1-1

Adam Lallana TEAMtalk

This will be a tough game.
Mourinho will want to cause an upset. When he took over at Spurs I thought the first thing he’d do was tighten up the defence. That hasn’t been the case. He’s also threw Ndombele under the bus a bit by calling him out in public re his fitness. Wherever Mourinho goes he does this with a player, rarely does it pay off. He does seem to have gotten more outta Delle Ali recently but with Kane out he’ll need another source of goals. He hasn’t been starting Erickson as he’s on his way out but it’s been to the detriment of results. Mourinhos shine has definitely faded but he’s still a tactician who can set up a team to frustrate and this is exactly what I expect him to do here.

We need to be patient and eventually we’ll find a way through. Good news Fabinho, Matip and Shaq all return to training this week but I doubt any will start.
The team will be pretty much more of the same as the last league game with either Lallana or Ox starting in midfield. One will replace the other I predict at some stage.

TAA, Gomez, VVD, Robbo
Lallana, Hendo, Wij
Salah, Firmino, Mane

Yeh, I think that line-up won’t be far off Ginger. Maybe Ox for Lallana to provide a little more balance.

We’ve only lost there once in the past six season which was that 4-1 drubbing horror show with Lovren getting subbed early doors.

We won there last season 2-1 with goals from Gini and Bobby before Lamela pulling one back late on.

Spurs have won once in their last four games which was a late win at home to Brighton. They’re leaking goals and have lost Kane and Sissoko in the last week.

But, like you said, Mourinho will have a plan and the players might also be up for a bit of retribution from the last time we played them.

2-0 says…Jim from Neighbours.

Tough game. Agree with you both that Jose will have a plan and be delighted with a 0-0

Fancy us to go there and win. Huge few weeks coming up

So we’ve had 3 home games in a row, one defeat and two victories. Some improvements and some of the poor defending synonymous with Wenger and Emery but far more resolve, work rate and organisation. The weak areas still defence obviously and the appalling Xhaka in midfield. We really need to go with Torreira (back to his best in his rightful position) and Guendouzi in midfield, Xhaka should be sold. It doesn’t matter who plays in defence they just aren’t good enough. Hopefully we can overcome an injury hit Palace but Wilf might cause us problems. Invest in a quality CD for the future and let’s forget Boateng, we don’t need Luiz MkII.

The Oracle

I am actually hopeful the good work we have been doing (all be it in fits and starts) will continue and we may just nick this, not sayig it will be pretty or without issue but we could and should win this and keep picking up 3 points, at the moment thats the important thing, keep the results coming and work behind the scenes

very underwhelmed with some of the transfers we are connected with

what do people think about Diop or Ake for £40m-£50m? Both heavily linked with chelsea, not too expensive and PL experiance?

I agree except the best midfield partnership is Xhaka and Torr with Ozil in front. Gwen has not been great lately and I think he struggles positionally in the new system. As a team we have performed better with Xhaka and Torr in front of the back 4. The back 4 picks its self AMN sok Luiz and Hulk. Interesting to see what he does up front as I would bring Martinelli straight back in and drop nelson although if Aube is still unwell it will just be a straight swap of him for Martinelli although even then I might swap Saka for Nelson.

Decent business for #LFC selling Allan Rodrigues de Souza to Atletico Mineiro for a fee of £3.2million. A profit of £2.7million. Wasn’t able to get a UK work permit and was down to the final six months of his contract.

Frank Lampard TEAMtalk

Drinkwater left on-loan to Aston Villa. Hopefully he will play well there and Villa will tie him up permanently at the end of season to generate income for us.

Diallo, his record is similar to Dembélé of Lyon, 10 goals this season. Even better as Diallo has 1 assist. If we can get him for much cheaper than Dembélé, it would be awesome I think.

Issa Diop, I don’t see him better than our CBs. So why?

And an article on TT says we want Bale for 51m? Please noooo!! A great player no doubt but 30 years old with a lot of injuries in the past. He will be 31 next season, he will hinder the development of Pulisic and CHO, he will command a very big salary. So hopefully this is not true.

Papers today suggest we’re still in for Ake providing we can move Christensen on which counters the Diop rumours of yesterday.

Currently we’re linked with more players than you could shake a stick at.😊

Still a very difficult window to trade in. Lyon allegedly put an £85m price on Dembele.😊😊😊

Realistically I see the links to Bale as merely rumours propelgated by the worst of the Spanish media for rumours.

I would be surprised if Chelsea were prepared to pay £50m for a player who will be 31 before the start of next season and therefore have no resale value and who is regularly injured and that’s before we get to his current 15m euros pa wages.

If Real were to offer Chelsea a silly deal ie a prolonged loan period with subsidised wages then maybe other than that I reckon it’s probably yesterday’s fish and chip paper. But we’ll see.

Read several articles that we agreed personal terms with Dembélé. But if Lyon want 85m, I think we can’t afford that. A back-up striker who will be our record transfer. Sounds really weird to me. Agreed about Bale, I don’t think we’re really interested in him. We have 150m war chest, does not mean that we would throw it away easily.

Aké has an advantage of Home-Grown status than Diop. But if I have to choose between those 2: I would choose Diop. Bigger, stonger, not injured at the moment. I still don’t think CB is a priority though.

Why aren’t we interested on taking Piatek on-loan? Milan do not need him anymore as they have Zlatan. I think he could do the job, he had a good goalscoring record last season and he is of different style of play than Abraham
