Liverpool owner John Henry has revealed his belief that the Reds are on course for a ‘special season’ under Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp’s side have taken 26 points from 10 games to start the Premier League season, sitting in second place behind Manchester City on goal difference.

While Henry admitted the Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid in Kiev was hard to swallow, he has backed the former Dortmund boss to deliver silverware this campaign.

“Yeah, Kiev was painful,” Henry told the media at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, after seeing his Boston Red Sox win baseball’s World Series.

“But getting to the Champions League final, you could say we were a little ahead of schedule.

“I think that Jurgen [Klopp] has solved our defensive issues and we are really strong at the back and in midfield, and everyone knows how good we are upfront.”
