Sadio Mane and Naby Keita have been helping Takumi Minamino settle into life at Liverpool.
The Japan international arrived last month for a bargain £7.25million from Red Bull Salzburg and he is starting to feel at home at Anfield due to help from his German-speaking team-mates.
Both Mane and Keita spent time with Red Bull Leipzig and so are both fluent in German, so the pair have been the first port of call for Minamino.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the 25-year-old explained how the duo are making life easier for him.
“You know that you are part of the team, but because my English is not good enough yet their help has been really important,” said Minamino.
“They are still helping me on some occasions and during the first days they taught me the team rules, things like what time the meetings started and how the team functions on a daily basis.
“At the moment I speak a lot with the players who can speak German.”
The Osaka-born midfielder has also been on a sight-seeing tour around the city.
He added: “Because Liverpool is The Beatles’ city, in this sense I was really interested in the city and I wondered what it would be like.
“When I looked around and saw those things for myself I really enjoyed it.”
Minamino has made four appearances under Jurgen Klopp, including an hour-long run-out against Wolves in the Premier League when Sadio Mane got injured.
