Liverpool Prem fixtures announced: Defining September run for Klopp

Liverpool will begin the defence of their Premier League title by facing Leeds United, Chelsea and Arsenal in their opening three fixtures.

Jurgen Klopp‘s men host the Whites at Anfield on the opening weekend, before travelling to Stamford Bridge and then hosting Arsenal.

The Reds travel to Merseyside rivals Everton on October 17, before the first clash of the campaign with Manchester City comes on November 7.

Manchester United travel to Anfield on January 16, before the reverse fixture at Old Trafford comes on May 1.

On Boxing Day, Liverpool host West Brom, while their December run also features tough games against Tottenham and Wolves.

As well as facing United in January, Liverpool have to travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for their reverse fixture with Spurs.

Liverpool’s run-in after their clash with United on May 1 sees them face Southampton (h), West Brom (a), Burnley (a) and Crystal Palace (h).

Before the Premier League season gets underway, however, there remains a decent chunk of the summer transfer window to get through.

The window runs until October but Liverpool have already wrapped up one signing – Greek left-back Kostas Tsimikas.

As well as the full-back, reports are linking the Reds with a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara.

However, Arsenal’s Per Mertesacker says the German would be “ambitious” to seek a move to the Premier League champions.
