Liverpool have reportedly rejected an approach from Serie A side Torino to sign young midfielder Marko Grujic.
Torino wanted to take the Serbian on a season-long loan with the option to buy him for £9million next summer, but that offer was immediately rebuffed and a move to Turin is no longer on the agenda, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The Reds, who value Grujic at around £20million, still believe that the 22-year-old has a future at Anfield – although they are still open to loaning him out, if they can get the player to sign a new deal with the club first.
Grujic had looked set to rejoin Cardiff earlier this month after helping them gain promotion back to the Premier League last season.
However, the midfielder decided to stay put and try and fight for his place at Anfield.
Russian giants CSKA Moscow are also keen on Grujic, according to the player’s agent Zoran Stojadinovic, although there has been no official approach as yet.
