Liverpool target Mbappe begins house hunting as report claims huge deal is on

Kylian Mbappe PSG pressure

Top Liverpool attacking target Kylian Mbappe has reportedly started searching for a house in Madrid as speculation grows that he could quit PSG for a switch to LaLiga.

Mbappe’s future has been the subject of continued interest throughout the season, even before the announcement of the highly controversial European Super League on Sunday night. And with PSG not signing up, it would appear that Real are viewing this as their opportunity to strike first for the forward.

The Spanish giants, along with the Reds, have been viewed as the frontrunners for the 22-year-old’s signature for some time.

But it would appear that Real have stolen a march on their rivals, with Goal stating that Mbappe has instructed his representatives to look for a property for him to buy in Madrid.

The report does add that it may not necessarily mean that Mbappe has made his mind up. The pacy attacker is fluent in Spanish and may just want to buy a property in the country for pleasure.

However, all the signs are pointing towards the former Monaco man lining up for Real next season.

PSG will be expecting to recoup a huge fee for Mbappe. That’s despite the fact he only has just over a year remaining on his current contract.

Previous reports claimed that Real were struggling to raise finds for the signing due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the establishment of the European Super League will certainly help them in that regard.

Stephen Warnock predicts Liverpool to finish in top four

Former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock believes the club will finish in the top four this season to qualify for next season's Champions League.

The Spanish giants will reportedly receive a €300m (£259m) welcome bonus for joining the breakaway competition.

The news will come as a big blow to Liverpool, who have targeted Mbappe in case either Sadio Mane or Mo Salah move on.

Marseille star waiting for Liverpool call

Meanwhile, Marseille defender Duje Caleta-Car is reportedly hoping Liverpool rekindle their interest in him this summer, amid claims he can leave for the right price.

The Croatian centre-half was targeted by Liverpool in January and a deal was almost struck before a late change of heart by Marseille. The 24-year-old had travelled to Marseille Province Airport ready to fly to Liverpool. However, his club pulled the plug on the deal, leaving the Reds to snap up Ozan Kabak instead.

Kabak has been an indifferent performer since taking his place in Jurgen Klopp’s side. And with an £18m option to buy, the jury remains out over whether the Reds will secure his signing permanently.

As a result, Liverpool could be in the market for alternatives. Earlier this month it was claimed a deal for RB Leipzig’s Ibrahima Konate was in the pipeline. Those rumours have since been firmly denied by Konate himself.

However, the possibility remains that an approach for Caleta-Car could be rekindled. And Liverpool’s prospects of landing the 12-times capped defender have increased amid reports in the French media.

As per RMC Sport, Marseille’s recently-appointed boss Jorge Sampaoli is ready to sell the defender should ‘an interest offer emerge’.
