Mario Gotze: Offered advice on future by Joachim Low

Germany coach Joachim Low has advised Mario Gotze to find out what plans new Bayern Munich coach Carlo Ancelotti has for him before making a move to Liverpool.

Gotze has started only five Bundesliga games this season, with Bayern coach Pep Guardiola leaving him on the bench even after he had returned from a hamstring injury.

The World Cup winner has been strongly linked with Liverpool since the day his former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp took over at Liverpool and the player admits he remains in regular contact with his former Borussia Dortmund boss.

But amid claims from his club and international team-mate Thomas Muller that he “may not be satisfied” at Munich, his national boss Low has advised him to discuss his future with incoming Bayern boss Ancelotti before deciding to leave.

“I had a talk with him last night about his situation at Bayern Munich and we decided he would play against Italy in Munich next week,” said Low.

“We had great talks about his situation and there will of course be a new coach in Bayern next season so the first thing he should do is talk to the new coach.”
