Liverpool tipped to sign PSG goalkeeper after agent comments

Liverpool have been given a clear path to make a January move for one PSG outcast due to comments from his agent.

Jurgen Klopp is reportedly in the market for a new goalkeeper with Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius failing to convince him so far.

As a result, the Reds have been linked with a more for Kevin Trapp, currently the number two with Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

According to Le10 Sport, Klopp is keen on making a move for the 27-year-old in order to fix his goalkeeping quandary.

Liverpool’s chances have been given a boost too, with representative Jorg Neubauer telling Sport 1: “If there is a chance in the winter, Kevin wants to leave Paris.”

Alphonse Areola has overtaken Trapp as Unai Emery’s first-choice, while the former Eintracht Frankfurt man has previously talked up a move to Liverpool.

“It’s an amazing club with a great tradition,” the Germany shot-stopper told Sport 1 last month.

“And of course, I’m a fan of the Premier League. The Reds are not without interest, they have already won many titles and Jürgen Klopp is of course a very good coach.

“I have not thought of possible clubs yet. However, many things can happen in football. Even if I’m not the most patient person, I have to stay cool.”
