Liverpool watch £28m CL star with agent links to Mane, Keita

Kerem Demirbay TEAMtalk

Liverpool reportedly scouted Hoffenheim midfielder Kerem Demirbay in Champions League action last night.

Turkish-Football suggested “a source close to the player” had told them that Jurgen Klopp’s men were set to watch the player in Hoffenheim’s 3-3 Champions League draw at home to Lyon.

A report last week from the Daily Star claimed that Demirbay was back on Liverpool’s radar ahead of a possible January move.

The 25-year-old midfielder agreed a deal extension earlier in the year which will run until the end of the 2021-22 season and last night he was in impressive form, playing the full 90 minutes and laying on the second goal for Andrej Kramaric.

Bild have claimed that the player has a £28m due to a release clause in his deal.

The Turkish source claim that Liverpool have been in contact with the player’s representatives Arena11, who also look after Liverpool duo Sadio Mane and Naby Keita.

That link could well be an invaluable one if Klopp is looking to add the attacking midfielder to his squad. Klopp has not replaced Philippe Coutinho, who left for Barcelona for £146million last January.

The German coach did line up Nabil Fekir in the summer only for the France schemer to have a knee problem picked up in his medical which saw the £50million-plus deal collapse at the 11th hour.
