Jamie Carragher has deleted his tweet from last night, which lambasted Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno.
The Spaniard had a shocker of a game and was culpable in two of Sevilla’s three goals as Liverpool allowed a one-nil lead to slip into a 3-1 in the Europa League final defeat.
The 23-year-old has made 50 appearances for the club this season, but namely due to the lack of any viable alternative. The former Sevilla defender has had an indifferent campaign and he has often been criticised for the defensive side of his game.
Liverpool have been linked with Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell as Jurgen Klopp looks for compitition for Moreno, but Wednesday night’s display, which incurred the wrath of Carrafger, might well have been his last for the Anfield club.
During the game, former defender Carragher posted a tweet which read, with added asterisks: “Jurgen, transfer committee, anyone, sign a f***ing left back.”

Carragher has since deleted the tweet, but his thoughts on Moreno are well-known.
In February, the Sky Sport pundit said: “The left-back has to come out of the team. [Jon] Flanagan has come back fit and has to go into the team in midweek, he [Klopp] has to change the left-back. Flanagan played left-back when they nearly won the league. He can’t be worse than him [Moreno].”
