Loanee Andreas Pereira does not want return to Man Utd

Andreas Pereira says he does not want to return to Manchester United this month.

The midfielder signed on a season-long loan for Valencia in August, but with Michael Carrick injured and Henrikh Mkhitarayan’s poor form there had been talk of Jose Mourinho recalling him to Old Trafford this month.

Mourinho previously stated United “have the situation under control” and that they can bring the player back to Old Trafford in the New Year on one condition.

That condition has not been revealed, but Valencia and Pereira have always favoured a stay until the summer and the 22-year-old has now said he does not fancy a return to United.

Speaking after he helped Valencia reach the Copa dey Rey quarter-finals with a 4-0 win over Las Palmas on Tuesday, he told Superdeporte: “I’m here and I want to stay.

“I feel good. I’m playing better and I want to win the cup with Valencia.

“I felt very good. Each game I feel better, I’m improving. I’m happy to help the team and give my best. This result gives us a lot of confidence and we need to work, be humble in order to continue to grow starting from keeping a clean sheet.

“We are all very excited about reaching the quarterfinals and we will try to reach the final.”

Pereira was a bit-part player early in the season, but he has now started the last eight games in a row with Valencia  third in the La Liga table.

Pareira has made 20 appearances, scoring one goal and creating four assists and he is expected back at Old Trafford in the summer after signing a contract extension before joining Valencia.
