Juventus are considering asking for Lucas Digne in return to allow Everton to sign top target Adrien Rabiot, according to a report.
Rabiot, who only moved to Juve last summer from Paris Saint-Germain, has been heavily linked with a move away.
Calciomercatoweb claims Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti remains a big fan of the player also targeted by former boss Marco Silva.
What’s more, Juventus remain willing to let the midfielder go and “satisfy” Ancelotti’s interest.
However, the report says the Italian champions could get something back from the deal by proposing a swap offer.
The man in question is Toffees left-back Digne, who has only missed three Premier League games this term.
The 30-time France international is a key star for Ancelotti and has also chipped in with six assists in all competitions.
Juventus are keen to sign Digne with Alex Sandro the only recognised left-back at the club.
Indeed, Digne spent the 2015/16 season on loan at Roma and so would be familiar with a move back to Italy, making him a “serious candidate” for a swap deal.
Swap deals could become the norm for Premier League clubs, with a report claiming top-flight sides are set to lose £1billion in revenue due to the recent shutdown.
EVERTON HIT WITH INJURIES
Elsewhere, Everton could be without four key players when the Premier League returns next week.
Yerry Mina and Jean-Philippe Gbamin remain sidelined but Theo Walcott will join them after undergoing abdominal surgery.
What’s more, Andre Gomes is a doubt after suffering a knock in training.
