Luis Suarez has received offers from the Premier League and Serie A as uncertainty grows over the forward’s future at Barcelona, according to a report.
Suarez has proved a fantastic investment from Barcelona in 2014, scoring 198 goals in 283 appearances since then. Indeed, those goals have helped the Spanish giants win several pieces of silverware since his arrival.
However, recent reports suggest that the Uruguayan faces an uncertain future under new boss Ronald Koeman.
The Dutchman does not reportedly want the 33-year-old in his team, as he looks to drive down the average age of his team.
What’s more, Koeman reportedly told the striker that Barca would terminate his contract with immediate effect. According to Sport, though, Suarez will not be short of suitors should his journey in Spain end this summer.
While the report names no clubs, the forward has received offers to make a move back to the Premier League.
Suarez became a club icon at Liverpool, scoring 82 goals in 133 matches. In particular, he was the Reds’ best player in the 2013/14 season with 31 top flight goals in 33 matches.
Meanwhile, Suarez also reportedly has offers from Serie A, although again the report mentions no specific clubs.
PSG KEEN ON LANDING SUAREZ
However, one side who are actively chasing the striker is Paris Saint-Germain. Sport says PSG have held a firm interest since Neymar recommended the club sign him in 2017.
Neymar reportedly believes his fellow South American would be an “ideal” player to play alongside.
However, PSG are yet to make their move as they wait to see the effect it would have on their relationship with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations.
What’s more, Suarez cannot make a decision until his lawyers reach an agreement with Barcelona. Should the two parties agree to terminate his contract, he will be free to find a new club.
Although, a return to Ajax is reportedly not on the cards for Suarez. Sport claims he is not keen on moving back to the Netherlands.
Teams from MLS and the Middle East are also keen.
In any case, Suarez’s contract runs until next summer, with the option of an extra year.
