Lyon chief makes bold claim over Man Utd, Everton target Mina
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas insists his club’s interest in signing Yerry Mina is genuine and they have as good a chance as anyone of signing the Barcelona defender.
Colombia star Mina finds himself a man in demand this summer, after it was claimed last week United had agreed personal terms with the Colombia defender and all that remained was for the two clubs to agree on a financial package.
However, they appeared to have been trumped by Everton, who looked to have reached a £28.5million, five-year deal for Mina on Monday.
Mina once again found himself linked with United again overnight, with the former Palmeiras man part of a two player and cash proposal Barca submitted for Paul Pogba.
Now Lyon chief Aulas has responded to suggestions that Mina is heading for the Premier League by writing on Twitter that the 6ft 4in defender is actually keen on a move to Ligue 1.
“I do not think (this) information is accurate,” he wrote regarding talk Mina is set to join either United or Everton.
Yeri is still very interested in OL. We all wish it to be Lyonnais also to play the champion League at the GS.”
Despite only arriving in January, Barcelona want to sell the World Cup star after just six appearances; the player dropping down their pecking order following the capture of Clement Lenglet from Sevilla earlier this summer.
Barca only paid Palmeiras £11million earlier this year, so the chance to make a 200% profit has persuaded them into a deal.
Mina enjoyed an impressive World Cup with Colombia, scoring three times for his nation as they bowed in the last 16 clash against England.
