Lyon president confirms Man Utd talks for £53m Liverpool target
Manchester United are interested in signing Nabil Fekir, according to Lyon’s president.
Fekir was expected to join Liverpool this summer, but a deal fell through because of concerns over a knee injury.
Now, Manchester United are entering the race to sign the playmaker, as revealed by Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas in an interview with beIN Sports.
He said: “I was with Jose Mourinho the other day. We had long discussions.
“Personally, I am no longer in discussions with Liverpool. At the moment, we are waiting for France and Nabil to have a fantastic World Cup.
“It was expected at a certain point for him to go to Liverpool. I gave the green light. It did not happen because things were dragged out too long.”
Fekir, 24, scored 23 goals from 39 appearances in all competitions for Lyon last season, and came on as a substitute in each of France’s first two World Cup matches.
Real Madrid are also interested in acquiring his services.
