Manchester City have moved a step closer towards agreeing a deal for Juventus right-back Joao Cancelo, according to reports in Italy.
So far, defensive midfielder Rodri has been the only major addition to Pep Guardiola’s treble-winning side this summer, but Calciomercato believe that they will get at least one more in the door before the transfer window closes next week.
According to the Italian source, negotiations with Juventus over the future of full-back Cancelo have taken a positive turn, with City’s offer coming ever closer to matching the Serie A champions’ valuation.
Juventus, who need to sell some players after spending big on Matthijs De Ligt this summer, want €60m for Cancelo, but City will open negotiations somewhere between €50m and €55m.
In a fresh update, Calciomercato also claim that City are prepared to offer Danilo as part of a cash-plus-player swap, which is something that Juventus would also consider.
Cancelo had been linked with rivals Man Utd earlier in the window, but with the Red Devils having landed Aaron Wan-Bissaka instead, it now looks like he is edging closer towards the Premier League champions.
