Isco has been caught complaining about Zinedine Zidane’s use of him at Real Madrid – and Manchester City have been linked with a potential transfer.
Isco has been at Real Madrid since 2013, earning more than 300 appearances for the first team and scoring more than 50 goals.
However, he has fallen out of favour in recent years. He made just 15 starts in La Liga last season, and only 11 the year before that.
Even though Zidane has defended him in the past, the Madrid boss is now losing faith in Isco. Therefore, the club will look to sell the midfielder at the earliest opportunity.
Pep Guardiola is a long-term admirer of the Spain international, so the report says he will not want to miss their best ever opportunity to sign him. Isco could help fill the void left by David Silva after the long-serving playmaker left City at the end of last season.
The report adds that Isco will be available for a cheaper price than in previous transfer windows. Given the current climate and his lack of action, Madrid will not be able to ask for more than €40m.
The La Liga champions could even accept a loan offer with a view to a permanent deal.
Isco makes Zidane complaint
Isco may not have helped his situation at Madrid after his comments against Zidane were picked up.
Speaking to his teammates while sat on the bench during El Clasico, Isco was caught complaining about the length of time Zidane gives him on the pitch.
“If he has to take me off, he takes me off in the 50th or 60th minute, sometimes at half-time,” Isco said. His teammates Marcelo and Luka Modric smiled after his comment.
Isco then added: “If he has to bring me on, he brings me on in the 80th minute.”
