Reece Oxford: Manchester City keen on West Ham youngster

Manchester City are reportedly stepping up their efforts to sign West Ham youngster Reece Oxford ahead of Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool.

Oxford first attracted attention when impressing on his senior debut in West Ham’s win at Arsenal on the opening day of the season.

The 17-year-old, who can play at centre-back or in midfield, has since been used only sparingly by Slaven Bilic but has been watched by City in Under-21 action, according to The Sun.

United, Arsenal and Liverpool are also said to be monitoring Oxford’s progress as they look to add homegrown players to their ranks, but City are apparently ready to make the first move for a player that will have two years on his contract remaining come the summer.
