Man City man reveals key role in Liverpool’s deal for Fabinho

Manchester City attacker Bernardo Silva has revealed the key role he played in Fabinho’s summer transfer to Liverpool.

Brazilian enforcer Fabinho arrived from Monaco for £43.7million this summer in a shock transfer, which took just about everyone by surprise.

And City winger Bernardo, who was a team-mate of Fabinho’s at Monaco, has said he helped persuade the central midfielder to move to Anfield, despite links to Manchester United.

“He told me how much I would like Liverpool and how impressed he was by the way people here live, and breathe football,” he told Sky Sports.

“We were good friends at Monaco and he was one of the best players there.

“We had a real understanding, and I’m really happy for him that he won the title last season.

“I wish him plenty of individual success this season, but not the title.”
