Man City on verge of landing Tottenham star; £50m fee agreed

Manchester City are reportedly on the verge of clinching the signing of Kyle Walker after meeting Tottenham’s £50million asking price.

The England right-back has been linked with a switch to City all summer and is unlikely to report to pre-season training on Friday as both clubs expect the deal to go through, according to a report in the Daily Telegraph.

The Premier League rivals have been in discussions over Walker for weeks but City had been reluctant to pay more than £40million for the 27-year-old – up until now it would seem.

City are in desperate need of a new right-back after missing out on Dani Alves and if the deal goes through it would equal the world record fee for a defender, following David Luiz’s £50m switch from Chelsea to PSG in 2014.
