Man City reject chance to sign Tottenham, Man Utd target after talks

Manchester City are not interested in signing Nelson Semedo, despite being offered the Barcelona right-back, according to reports.

Semedo seems likely to be on the move this summer, three years after originally joining Barcelona – and the Premier League has been suggested as a possible destination.

Manchester City have been among those linked, with a swap deal that would see former Valencia defender Joao Cancelo return to Spain being mentioned as a possibility.

However, Marca (via Sport Witness) claim that despite some talks taking place and Semedo being open to the switch, the interest is not reciprocal, and City do not view the Portugal international as a priority signing.

Indeed, the most likely avenue for Semedo appears to be towards Juventus instead, with talk of a swap deal involving Manchester United and Chelsea target Miralem Pjanic surfacing in recent weeks.

Despite those claims, Semedo is still on the radar of other Premier League clubs, with Tottenham in need of reinforcements at right-back after failing to replace Kieran Trippier last summer.

Reports have suggested that Barcelona are interested in Spurs midfielder Tanguy Ndombele and would be willing to entertain the idea of a swap for Semedo, although it remains to be seen whether that outcome is more likely than the one which would take the full-back to Juventus.

Manchester United were also said to be monitoring the 26-year-old recently, although they seem keen on keeping their current right-back options, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot.
