Man City legend approached by four European giants as exit fears grow

Sergio Aguero has been approached by four European giants ahead of his possible exit from Manchester City, according to reports.

Aguero has established himself as a City legend over the past 10 years, becoming their all-time leading scorer with 256 goals.

However, he is out of contract at the end of this season – a campaign which has brought several challenges for Aguero.

The striker has struggled to shake off injury problems. Then, as it seemed he was nearing a return, he tested positive for Covid-19.

Without an appearance since January 3rd, there are increasing fears that this could be the end of Aguero’s time at the Etihad Stadium.

While City may be preparing to move on from him, though, there are a number of other clubs who still see a future for Aguero at the top level.

According to The Mirror, the striker has admirers in Barcelona, PSG, Juventus and Inter Milan.

There are no formal offers as of yet, and Aguero is keeping his options open. But he still believes he can contribute in a major European league.

Manchester City TV Presenter Kyle Walker believes the club should keep striker Sergio Aguero with his contract expiring this summer.

That now seems unlikely to be with Man City, who are concerned about the size of his wages in comparison to his output over the past year or so.

However, it appears Aguero will have plenty of options to choose from for his next club. The chance to sign a player of his calibre for free will be appealing for a number of teams.

Barcelona are in search of a striker after parting company with Luis Suarez last summer. Aguero is high on their wishlist.

PSG’s interest has also been well documented, while Serie A pair Juventus and Inter have both been looking for a striker for a number of months now.

Last week, Aguero opened up on his future in an interview with Spanish celebrity Ibai Llanos.

The 32-year-old admitted he has doubts about what will happen in the summer.

“I finish my contract at the end of the season and I don’t know what to do yet,” he said. “The first thing I want to do is play and at the end of the season we will see.”
