Man City star set for bumper pay rise but will be made to wait

Manchester City winger Leroy Sane looks set to be rewarded for his stunning start to the season with a bumper pay rise.

The 21-year-old is believed to be one of the lowest paid players in the City squad, on around £60,000 a week.

He is expected to be handed fresh terms at the end of the current campaign – upping his money to around £80,000 a week, according to a report in the Daily Express.

However, City boss Pep Guardiola wants to get Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva and Fernandinho tied down first.

Sane has three-and-a-half years left on his current but is set to be rewarded after a sensational start to the season in which he has scored eight goals.

An Etihad source told the Express: “Leroy will be rewarded for his performances with a new deal next summer.

“He has to bide his time for now as he is behind De Bruyne, Silva and Fernandinho in terms of what the club want to address.

“He is one of the lowest-paid in the team, but will get a nice bump up to start matching the others.

“The club want him to concentrate on his football for now and then it will be spoken about once we get towards the end of the season.”
