Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering a move for Rennes winger Jeremy Doku, who is a key target for Manchester City.

Ange Postecoglou has focused on bolstering his defence this summer but now wants to bring in attacking players to compensate for Harry Kane’s departure.

Doku scored seven goals and made four assists in 35 appearances for Rennes last season and at the age of 21, is only expected to improve as he gains experience.

As previously reported by TEAMtalk, Man City are the favourites to sign the Belgium international this summer. It’s believed he could be available for around £50m.

West Ham are also interested, so we could potentially see a bidding war take place for Doku over the next couple of weeks.

Doku is thought to be keen on a move to the Premier League. The Cityzens are yet to make an official bid for the winger, though, which could give Tottenham an opportunity to swoop for his signature.

The youngster could prove to be a real asset for Spurs. Their current winger options consist of quality players like Heung-min Son and Dejan Kulusevski, but Doku could prove to be an excellent long-term investment.

Tottenham to rival Man City, West Ham for Doku

According to the IndependentTottenham are ‘trailing’ Doku, as well as Man City and West Ham, in a race ‘that could go until the end of the transfer window.’

The report claims West Ham have already submitted a bid for the eye-catching attacker, but it still falls short of Rennes’ £50m valuation.

Man City, as mentioned, haven’t made a bid yet but are ‘confident’ of sealing deals for Doku and West Ham’s Lucas Paqueta in ‘the next two weeks.’

The Independent adds that ‘there is a feeling’ whoever misses out on signing the Belgian could try to sign Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace.

Tottenham’s interest in Eze is concrete, but Doku is thought to be Postecoglou’s priority as it stands.

With that in mind, it will be interesting to see if Spurs make a bid for the winger in the next few days. If they don’t, both Man City and West Ham could scupper their plans.

Man City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne is reportedly trying to convince Doku to make the switch to the Etihad, too, so Tottenham will have to move quickly if they want to get their man.
