Man City to blow Spurs out of the water to sign £60m Leicester star

Manchester City aim to blow Tottenham away with a £60 million bid for Leicester City’s James Maddison, just 12 months after he was signed for £22 million.
Maddison enjoyed a fine debut season in the Premier League, finishing 9th with Leicester, after impressing in the Championship for Norwich.
Leicester’s faith in the England U21 international was repaid as he topped the Premier League chance creations table with 100 chances created across the campaign. He also provided seven goals and seven assists for the Midlands club in 36 appearances.
This has seen interest from top six clubs increase, with reports linking Spurs and Arsenal to the attacking midfielder.
However, Football Insider now claim that the Premier League champions will gazump Spurs and make a £60 million pound bid for Maddison.
This is of course not the first time City have looked to the King Power Stadium for new signings having signed Riyad Mahrez from the Foxes last summer. Reports have also linked them with England international Ben Chilwell at left-back.
As David Silva comes to the latter stage of his career, there are doubts over the fitness of Kevin De Bruyne and with rumours circulating around Leroy Sane, Maddison could be brought in as Guardiola looks to further improve his squad.
Arsenal are unlikely to make a move for Maddison after their 4-1 defeat to Chelsea in the Europa League final left them without Champions league football and severely reduced their transfer budget.
City’s interest will be bad news for Tottenham, just days after they were defeated 2-0 by Liverpool in the Champions League final in Madrid.
On the other hand, this will be welcomed by City fans, especially after Pep Guardiola dropped his biggest hint yet on his future at the Etihad Stadium.
