Manchester City face competition from Bayern Munich and Real Madrid to sign Schalke forward Leroy Sane, the player’s dad has warned.

City were thought to be close to completing a deal for Sane, who appeared for Germany at Euro 2016, after agreeing terms on a four-year deal.

However, the Premier League outfit still need to negotiate a fee for the 20-year-old with Schalke, who are holding out for £42million.

But Souleymane Sane insists it is not certain his son will join City.

“Real Madrid and Bayern are also still in mix,” he told Sky News in Germany.

According to the Daily Mirror, City remain relaxed that they will get their man, but the news may force them to press ahead with a deal sooner rather than later.
