Man Utd ‘agree’ to £13m loss on Di Maria

Purchased for a club-record £59.7million from Real Madrid just last summer, Di Maria struggled to make a lasting impact at Old Trafford and looks to be on the verge of an exit after just 12 months.

The Argentinean impressed early on in the Premier League, but struggled to truly acclimatise to life in the Premier League, scoring a disappointing four goals in 32 games in all competitions.

PSG manager Laurent Blanc confirmed the club’s interest in the 27-year-old earlier this week, with defender David Luiz talking up his potential future team-mate.

Di Maria smashed United’s previous club-record transfer just last August, with the near-£60million fee far outstripping that of last incumbent Juan Mata, who joined under David Moyes for just over £37million.

The winger was sold by Real despite putting in a man-of-the-match performance in their 2014 Champions League final win over Atletico Madrid, with a place in the World Cup team of the tournament following after starring for Argentina in Brazil.

Despite continuing such fine form heading into the new season, Di Maria soon found himself struggling for playing minutes, and he started just one of United’s last 10 games of the 2014/15 season.
