Man Utd and Chelsea battle rivals for £45m-rated Brazil wonderkid

Chelsea and Manchester United will reportedly battle it out for a Brazilian wonderkid this January, who has a £45m buy-out clause.
According to the Daily Mail, the Premier League duo are keeping a watching brief of Gremio sensation Arthur.
It was believed that the 21-year-old was Barcelona-bound after he was pictured posing in the club’s shirt after a meeting meeting Barca sporting director Robert Fernandez.
However, this didn’t go down too well with Gremio, who instead came out and denied that a deal had been done and insisted he would only be allowed to leave if his £45m buy-out clause was met.
The report claims that while Barca remain interested in Arthur, the signings of Philippe Coutinho and Yerry Mina mean that they will likely have to sell in order to balance the books before making more acquisitions.

Gremio are hoping to strike a deal with an English club in order to avoid selling to Barcelona, and could sell for £30m-£35m.
Manchester City and Arsenal are both also keeping an eye on the Brazil U20 international, as well as Chelsea and United.
