Manchester United and Tottenham have been dealt a blow with the news that Ryan Sessegnon will not be leaving Fulham this month.
The 17-year-old full-back has been on the shopping list of Spurs and United with Sky Sports claiming United were showing “significant interest” in the player in the summer.
The England U19 star, who signed a three-year professional contract with Fulham in June 2017, has continued his progress in the Championship this term with seven goals in 29 appearances.
Sessegnon burst on to the Championship scene last term, making 30 appearances, scoring seven times and grabbing five assists to grab the attention of the big boys.
However, Fulham vice-chairman, Tony Khan, has insisted the London-born starlet is going nowhere this month.
Khan told The Telegraph: “As it’s been the subject of a great deal of speculation, I’d like to announce that Ryan Sessegnon is staying with Fulham football club and will not be departing during this January transfer window.
“Ryan is a very important part of the Fulham family, and we’re grateful that he’ll be with us as we fight to achieve promotion this season.”
