West Brom resigned to losing £30m Jonny Evans next month
West Bromwich Albion are resigned to losing centre-back Jonny Evans next month, according to a report.
Albion boss Alan Pardew is already looking at replacements for the Northern Ireland international, who almost move on in the summer.
Manchester City were very keen on Evans, 29, in August, but the deal fell through, however with 18 months left on his contract he looks set to move in the window.
West Brom demanded £30million for him in the summer and they are unlikely to lower that valuation mid-season, but Evans has so far refused to extend his deal at The Hawthorns.
The Baggies have offered the former Manchester United man an extension, but he is sitting tight so far and waiting to see what offers he gets next month.
The Gambling Times claims: “With the chance to move back to the top-six, sources have told me that Evans is keen to see what comes in January, making a new deal unlikely at this stage.”
City are in the market for a centre-back next month and Goal reported last week that Virgil van Dijk and Real Sociedad’s Inigo Martinez were on their wanted list with the Premier League leaders “hopeful of signing one of the two during the winter transfer window”.
Arsenal, Everton and former club Manchester United are all believed to be tracking the player, who has made 15 Premier League appearances this season.
The report claims West Brom are looking atMiddlesbrough’s Ben Gibson, Brighton’s Lewis Dunk and Ben Mee of Burnley, as potential replacements.
