Manchester United have proposed a swap deal involving Paul Pogba to Italian giants Juventus, according to a shock report.

The World Cup winner was strongly expected to depart Old Trafford if Jose Mourinho remained in charge, with rumours of a return to Italy never far away.

He has had a dramatic upturn in form under new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in recent weeks, bagging four goals in five games since the Norwegian took over.

However, despite returning to form, Turin-baed newspaper Tuttosport claim that Pogba could still reunite with Juventus in the coming summer.

The report states that the Bianconeri are refusing to give up on the idea of bringing Pogba back to the club, having sold him to United in an £89m deal back in 2016.

In addition, Tuttosport are report that United have even proposed the idea of a swap deal involving the Frenchman and winger Douglas Costa.

The Daily Mirror recently claimed United had finally agreed to meet Mourinho’s long-standing request to add another winger to his frontline – and that Brazilian forward Douglas Costa was the man the club had already lined up.

Italian TV channel Rai Sport stated that £53.9m offer has been made for the Juventus forward, which would make him the fourth most expensive United signing in history, marginally behind Angel di Maria.

Now Tuttosport‘s latest report says the Red Devils are still admirers of the 28-year-old, but that Juve would only consider including him if United’s asking price for Pogba is above their budget.
