Paul Pogba: Manchester United return close

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has hinted a move for Henrikh Mkhitaryan is virtually done – and says a fourth target – possibly Paul Pogba – is also on his agenda.

United have already completed deals for Eric Bailly and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with Mkhitaryan and Pogba expected to be the other two they pursue.

Speaking at his first press conference since being appointed Man Utd boss, Mourinho said: “I want specialists. From this four, we have three.

“Until we have the fourth we are working hard on that.

“When we get the fourth I can breathe.”

Mourinho insists he wants his business all wrapped up early and continued: “We don’t go to August 31. We do it before then.

“I want the players I’m keeping to be happy. If a player leaves, he has to be replaced. We get the 3rd and hopefully we get the fourth.”

When asked if the transfers were close, Mourinho admitted: “I don’t know. I think the third player is official, right?”
