Man Utd battling Chelsea for phenom forward drawing Harry Kane comparisons
A striker sensation following in the footsteps of Jude Bellingham and already likened to Harry Kane has caught the eye of Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City, per a report.
Emre Tezgel is the player in question, with the Stoke City phenom already on the radar of England’s elite sides. Tezgel only turned 16 in September, but is already developing a fearsome reputation within the game.
He was a regular with the Potters’ Under-18s side last term despite being 15. Tezgel notched his fair share of goals at that level, though his exploits this season have made suitors take note.
He has bagged seven goals in his first four matches at Under-18s level this season. Among that was a hat-trick against Liverpool and a brace against the Red Devils.
His physicality is such that he was chosen to train with the club’s Under-23s during the summer, per the Daily Mail.
The vibrant youngster has earned caps with England’s Under-17s and shone in competitive action. Four goals were plundered from three matches in the Syrenka Cup in September, a tournament England progressed to the final in.
For his displays, Tezgel received the Player of the Tournament award. He followed in the footsteps of fellow England sensation Bellingham who scooped the gong in 2019.
The head coach of England’s Under-17s, Tom Curtis, has already likened the starlet to Tottenham talisman Kane.
Donny van de Beek's agent working tirelessly to secure move away
Donny van de Beek's agent is reportedly working tirelessly to secure the Dutchman a move away from Old Trafford, with more updates on Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele, and Edinson Cavani.
“He’s a Harry Kane-type centre-forward,” said Curtis. “That gets bandied about but his movement is good, he can hold the ball up and he is decent in the air.
“His main attribute, though, is his finishing and that’s what good centre-forwards have.
“He plays like a seasoned pro, pulling off at an angle, giving little nudges to the centre-back and making space. It’s great to have that bank of knowledge already at his age.”
Predictably, the Mail article claims Stoke are up against it to retain his services for much longer. Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City are all credited with interest.
Assessing who will be the next Premier League manager to get the sack
Solskjaer sack inevitable amid “pathetic” performances – Hamann
Meanwhile, former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann has said that is only a matter of time before Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gets the sack at Old Trafford.
The Norwegian manager has always said that he realises the pressure to deliver silverware at Old Trafford. But after almost three years in the job and a successful recent transfer window, that pressure has increased.
“The one and only reason why Manchester United are still in the title race and doing alright in the Champions League is Cristiano Ronaldo,” Hamann told Sky Sports.
“I don’t know where they would be without him or his goals. It is all patchwork. Old Trafford, that used to be the Theatre of Dreams, now it is more like the Theatre of Nightmares. Their performances are pathetic. At the moment, they just don’t play good football.”
The German went on to explain why it is a “matter of when, not if” Solskjaer will receive his marching orders.
