Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea have been given a boost in their pursuit of a Bundesliga winger.

The Daily Mirror claimed on Tuesday that Chelsea are leading the aforementioned duo in the race for Leverkusen star Leon Bailey.

The Jamaica forward has lit up the Bundesliga this season after scoring 10 times and creating numerous chances.

Bailey is reportedly valued at £40m, and Chelsea, as well as Arsenal and Manchester United, have sent scouts to check Bailey’s progress.

Now, Leverkusen chief Rudi Voller has admitted that they may be forced to ‘give in’ and sell key players should interest become more serious.

“At Bayer, we have had players who have aroused great interest and are on the wish list of other clubs for years,” sporting director Voller told Die Welt:

“That’s why it does not catch us off guard. It would be bad if it did. We are relaxed. The only club that can say no – and would do so – if a player attracted interest is Bayern Munich.

“We and other clubs have to give in. There are limits you can reach, but that’s a theme of our policy, independent of Leon Bailey.

“If there is a need for discussion, we all sit down and decide what is best, while also keeping other alternatives open.”
