Man Utd, Chelsea swap claim made by Fabrizio Romano as legendary star lays out two options for Ten Hag rebel

Man Utd winger Jadon Sancho could be on the move.
Jadon Sancho’s long-term future at Manchester United is now up in the air as Rio Ferdinand has shared his thoughts on the situation amid links to Chelsea emerging.
Sancho was omitted from Erik ten Hag’s match-day squad against Arsenal as the Dutch boss claimed the winger had failed to reach the required standards in training.
“You have to reach a level every day at Manchester United and we can make choices in the front line,” Ten Hag said after the loss at Emirates Stadium. “So for this game he was not selected.”
The £73m signing then refuted these comments on social media and claimed that he has become a ‘scapegoat’ of late.
Sancho took to social media to explain: “Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that [are] completely untrue.
“I have conducted myself in training very well this week. I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into, I have been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!”
This could leave Sancho in a tricky situation as he has publicly gone against the manager. Ten Hag will consider what to do with the 23-year-old, but he could be short of options as the Premier League transfer window is now closed.
Ferdinand lays out two options
It’s no secret that Sancho has struggled to live up to the hype since arriving at Old Trafford in 2021 and Ferdinand thinks that he could be in for a difficult ride if he sticks around.
While the Premier League transfer window has now closed, clubs from Saudi Arabia can continue to sign players and the former Man Utd defender thinks this could be an option for Sancho.
“There’s no way Jadon is putting out a statement like that if he hasn’t in his own eyes performed well,” Ferdinand explained on his FIVE YouTube channel.
“That’s the difference as well. On his chart, Jadon [might think] – ‘I’ve trained alright’, but the manager might have a different standard.
“There’s two ways this ends. There’s only one window open now and that’s Saudi. Or you’re on the bench or not getting in the squad for the rest of the season.”
Chelsea were offered Sancho
Fabrizio Romano has provided an interesting update on the Man Utd winger as the journalist revealed Sancho was offered to Chelsea as part of the deal for Marc Cucurella.
Of course, Man Utd instead ended up signing Sergio Reguilon instead, but this update would suggest that Ten Hag has been considering offloading Sancho for some time now.
“This tension around Sancho was already there in the last two or three weeks,” Romano revealed on his YouTube channel.
“It was not something close, he was not a top target. The name of Jadon Sancho only came on the table when Man Utd and Chelsea discussed about Marc Cucurella.
“So there was the name of Sancho on the table to include in a possible swap deal. But this was never something asked by Chelsea and it was never something concrete, close or advanced.”
