Manchester United could rekindle their interest in Tottenham left-back Danny Rose this summer, according to a report.
Speaking after England’s penalty shoot-out victory against Switzerland in the Nations League third-place play-off on Sunday afternoon, Rose stoked rumours about his future by suggesting he might have played his last game for Tottenham.
“I don’t know what the future holds now. I’m looking forward to a break. If I’m back at Tottenham next season, great, if I’m not – great. I’ll just have to wait and see,” he told Sky Sports News.
Despite making 37 appearances in all competitions under Mauricio Pochettino, there has so far been nothing to suggest that the north London club will stand in the way of a summer exit.
United’s current left-back option Luke Shaw enjoyed a solid season, but the club do not currently have a back-up option.
Marcos Rojo and Matteo Darmian could play there if asked but neither are natural left-backs, meaning Solskjaer may look to dip into the transfer market this summer to source a solution.
Fulham starlet Ryan Sessegnon is also believed to be an option, but he would apparently cost considerably more than Rose, and competition is also provided from Spurs and Liverpool.
