Manchester United are not the only Premier League side interested in Kalidou Koulibaly, with an Italian report naming three rivals for the signature of the Napoli star.
The highly-rated defender was one of the names linked with United last summer before they broke the world record transfer fee for a defender by purchasing Harry Maguire.
Koulibaly’s name remains in the gossip columns, however, with Napoli’s turbulent season leading to uncertainty over the futures of several of their top stars.
Midfielder Fabian Ruiz has been linked with Man Utd, while striker Dries Mertens could be snapped up by Chelsea when his contract expires – and Koulibaly is a third player Napoli are at risk of losing.
The Senegalese defender was recently said to be the subject of a huge contract offer from Paris Saint-Germain, but it is believed that United are still interested in signing him to play alongside Maguire.
However, Naples-based newspaper Il Mattino (via The Mirror) reveals that Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are all also in the race for him.
The London-based trio or United will have a better chance of signing him if Napoli miss out on European qualification this season – with Gennaro Gattuso’s side currently down in 10th, but on a run of three successive wins in all competitions.
Of the Premier League quartet, United are said to remain the most likely candidates for the 28-year-old, whose value may have dropped as low as £64m.
